Main purpose of the role:

 

The Role is working for Bee Ethical with the main client being The Veterans’ Foundation.

The Veterans’ Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering veterans who have served our nation. Committed to making a positive impact in the lives of veterans, the foundation focuses on providing essential resources, assistance, and opportunities to enhance the well-being of those who have served.

The Public Relations Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing awareness for our key client’s life-changing support within the armed forces and veterans’ community. As a Public Relations Manager you will be dedicated to developing and executing impactful PR campaigns, creating compelling narratives, and establishing strong media relationships to connect with audiences on a national and regional level, both online and offline. The primary objectives include effectively communicating the impact of grant funding, supporting fundraising initiatives, and contributing to the creation of visually engaging content as part of Bee Ethical’s digital marketing and videography team.

 

Key responsibilities/Tasks:

1.     Stakeholder Engagement:

·       Collaborate with internal teams to understand organizational goals and effectively communicate them to external stakeholders.

·       Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key internal partners, including board members, staff, and volunteers.

2.     External Liaison:

·       Act as the primary point of contact for external organizations, including charities, government officials, and media outlets.

·       Establish and nurture partnerships with organizations that align with the mission and values of the Veterans Foundation.

3.     Media Relations:

·       Develop and implement media relations strategies to increase the foundation’s visibility.

·       Create press releases, organize media events, and proactively seek opportunities for media coverage.

4.     Government Relations:

·       Engage with members of local and national government to advocate for the interests of veterans and the foundation.

·       Stay informed about relevant policies and legislative initiatives affecting veterans.

5.     Delivery of Public Affairs Strategy:

·       Manage the delivery of The Veterans’ Foundation’s public affairs strategy in parliament and policy-making circles.

·       Act as a company spokesperson to advocate for key policy messages with MPs and other decision-makers.

·       Lead and maintain relationships with key stakeholders working on similar policy issues.

·       Develop an annual communications and engagement plan aligned with the company-wide strategy.

6.     Marketing Collaboration:

·       Collaborate closely with the marketing team to understand target audiences, brand voice, and campaign objectives.

·       Develop and execute comprehensive marketing, PR, and social media strategies to increase brand visibility.

7.     Content Creation:

·       Generate compelling campaigns and content for various channels, including website, social media, and promotional materials.

·       Create case studies of successful projects and collect client testimonials.

8.     Strategic Communication:

·       Develop creative and strategic copy for marketing materials, including blog articles, social media content, and email campaigns.

·       Ensure consistent messaging across all PR materials and channels.

9.     Budget Management:

·       Manage and maintain budget/financials for PR and marketing activities.

Desirable Skills and qualifications

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.

·       Proven experience in public relations, stakeholder management, and media relations.

·       Strong understanding of government relations and policy-making processes.

·       Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

·       Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.

·       Strong organizational and project management abilities.
