Oundle’s Do Your Bit fundraising campaign launched with the Oundle Town FC lottery.
The lottery was started in the club’s bid to raise £100,000 towards the build of a new clubhouse. This would help to make Oundle more accessible for all, and it would be somewhere that the local community could use for events and fun family activities. They calculated that the club would need to sign up 463 players over a 3 year period to hit their goal and this seemed possible to those involved.
Before they started promoting, the club engaged its committee to really get behind the lottery as a viable solution for raising this target.
Then they started encouraging supporters to sign up, share, and recruit others, framing each act as “doing their bit” to protect the club they love.
They used promotional Do Your Bit fundraising materials in all their public spaces.
They had a launch event on a match day weekend, actively asking supporters to ‘do their bit’ to help build the new clubhouse.
Within just eight days of launch, Oundle’s lottery achieved over 23% of its target of 463 regular supporters – which secured them a £2,000 bonus win. The club now has a sustainable income stream that directly supports facilities for players and the wider Oundle community.
